Roto-Rooter of Eau Claire has been owned by the Hellands since 2002.
Dan Helland started cleaning drains in 1998, and in 2002 he and his wife Catherine purchased the Roto-Rooter franchise.
Today, with over 25 years of drain cleaning knowledge, Dan is one of the most experienced drain and sewer cleaning professionals in the Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, and Menomonie area. He is dedicated to providing exceptional service, even in an emergency.
As a truly family-owned and operated business, everyone in the Helland family has a role in keeping customers satisfied. Dan and Catherine's son Brandon started helping out at a young age. By the age of 16, he was in a service truck of his own. Brandon now has over eight years of drain cleaning experience. Catherine is the office manager and their daughter Michaela has been assisting her in the office for the past five years, now recently joined by Michaela's newborn daughter Charlotte.

About Roto-Rooter
In 1933, Samuel Blanc created a funny-looking sewer cleaning machine from a 1/6 HP Maytag washing machine motor, roller skate wheels, and 3/8" cable to turn the blades. The device used a combination of special knives to cut tree roots out of sewer lines. No digging was required. A year later, Sam's wife Lettie christened the prototype the "Roto-Rooter."
Founded in 1935, Roto-Rooter became North America's largest plumbing, drain cleaning, and water cleanup services provider. In 1980, the Blanc family sold Roto-Rooter to Chemed Corporation. Roto-Rooter moved its headquarters to Cincinnati but continued to manufacture the famous Roto-Rooter drain cleaning machines, cables, blades, and other parts at its West Des Moines, Iowa factory.
Today, Roto-Rooter operates businesses in over 100 company-owned branches and approximately 400 independent franchise operations, serving about 90% of the United States.
